Our Sustainability Challenge in-person workshop offers up to 120 middle or high school students an opportunity to walk across a university campus and interact with real-world professionals whose day-to-day work deals with some aspect of renewable energy. Students are grouped with youth from different grades and schools and learn how to function as a team to tackle the Challenge task and present their findings to a team of engineers.

The purpose of the workshop is to increase students’ understanding of solar, wind, and geothermal technologies and their role in mitigating climate change. More importantly, the workshop provides an innovative learning environment that cultivated 21st century skills, particularly critical thinking and problem-solving, team work, and communication.

All workshops may be adapted to fit the students’ distance learning experience.
