Leadership Series
Our Leadership Series is a two year in-school leadership program which incorporates our THINK DESIGN, SPEAK and SUSTAINABILITY workshops and is interwoven with our climate action curriculum. Our first phase engages 9th and 10th graders, The second phase inspires 7th and 8th graders, and the third phase empowers 11th and 12th graders.
Our goal is to graduate 10,000 alumni from our Leadership Series by 2030.
Our students 1) brainstorm about projects that they would like to lead (all projects must align with SGAP Leaders’ mission), 2) develop a “plan of action," 3) recruit team members, and with guidance, 4) execute their projects. The process of designing, developing and executing their project, exposes our students to real-world challenging experiences such as team dysfunction, poor planning and execution. These challenging experiences are springboards for our students’ growth and leadership development.
Our students have launched community projects such as Spring/Fall Clean-Up, Gifts for Seniors as well as organize virtual speakers and panels for our SPEAK series.
