SGAP Leaders SPEAK series provides an opportunity and forum for dynamic speakers to share relevant topics with a younger generation. Speakers may be subject matter experts, Alumni or supporters. Topics vary based on interests of the middle and high school students.

TRASHBOTS - Robotics with an artistic twist
Sidharth Srinivasan is a co-founder of Trashbots, an affordable robotics kit created with the mission to make hands-on STEM education accessible to all. Founded in 2017 by brothers Rohit and Sidharth Srinivasan, Trashbots is pushing the boundaries of robotics and coding by providing a low-cost robotics platform for students K-12 with an artistic twist and structured curriculum. Sidharth is currently finishing up his gap year from Stanford University hopes to graduate with degrees in Computer Science and Bio-Engineering.  Outside of work, Sidharth is very into music - singing with a Stanford a cappella group and Grammy award-winning Conspirare in Austin, Texas.
Expanding your Horizons
Austin Joseph is the Marketing Manager of Xbox.com. Austin was an SGAP Leaders alumni who, after interning with SGAP, attended Morehouse College and graduated magna cum laude. While at Morehouse, he received scholarships to attend the Semester of Sea program where he sailed to 11 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. He interned at NBC News, NBC Sports, and Google (YouTube team). Austin was also selected for a week-long summer enrichment program at Harvard Business School.
The Power of Your Vote!
After graduating from DuPaul University, Kiah Sandler was recruited by Teach For America and served as a 9th and 10th grade special education teacher on Chicago's West Side - North Lawndale community. She later decided to leave the program, and works for a nonpartisan nonprofit entitled Chicago Votes!, where her work is rooted in fighting voting disenfranchisement against the incarcerated and systemically silenced.
Climatedu - Climate Education for Youth by Youth!
Vivian Li is a writer and designer studying at the University of Southern California in the Iovine and Young Academy. At USC, she is developing sustainable design guidelines for the USC Office of Sustainability, managing social media communications for the Student Sustainability Committee, and serving on the Presidential Symposium Advisory Board. She is the founder and team lead of climatedu, a climate course made for students, by students. She is actively involved in climate journalism and has been recognized by the New York Times as a winner in their STEM Writing Contest. In her free time, Li loves baking plant-based snacks, running, and singing out loud.
Navigating College Life
Liana Abbott is a Finance Manager at Microsoft. Prior to her role at Microsoft, she was a Business Intelligence Analyst and Project Manager specializing in data management and data engineering. She holds an MBA from the Darden School of Business and a Masters of Education from the School of Education and Human Development both at the University of Virginia. While at UVA, she continued to strengthen on her project management skills and design thinking skills, while building a deeper understanding of financial planning and analysis, curriculum building, and educational innovation. Liana splits her time between Seattle, Washington and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The Value of Networking 101
Sydney Webber was part of the Financial Analyst Program at Wells Fargo where she was an analyst and then portfolio manager on the Healthcare, Higher Education, and Not for Profit Banking Credit Team. In this role, Sydney was responsible for managing the credit relationships within the HHN sector. In 2021, Sydney decided to pursue an opportunity in fintech. Sydney currently works for Block, Inc (formerly Square, Inc) where she is a team lead on the Credit Ops Team within Square Financial Services. Her team is responsible for helping small businesses gain access to capital while also mitigating credit risk to SFS.
Charting Your Future
Samori Roberts is a software engineer at Microsoft and co-founder/Lead at start-up entitled Feedback. Samori who joined us via video from Washington state desires to improve the quality of life for all human beings regardless of creed, religion or origin. Mr. Roberts matriculated from Morehouse College where he majored in physics and minored in computer science. He graduated top of his class and is the current holder of the highest score for the Physics Major Field Exam in Morehouse history. He shared his insights and thoughts about “charting your future” after high school and college. He also shared his experiences during the COVID shut-down.
Diversity & Inclusion
Former SGAP Leader, Isaiah Moore majoring in Television & Cultural Studies at Columbia College in Chicago committed to making the world a better place through social justice and civic engagement. Moore spoke to students at the John F. Kennedy high school's Leadership Training Institute (LTI) and Minority Scholars, and shared his personal challenges regarding his self identity while in high school and college.
My Journey in Service
Stephanie Su is a Computer Science major at UC Berkeley interested in tech, business, and social impact. She serves as Lead Director of Superposition, an international non-profit bridging the gender gap in STEM. Under Stephanie's leadership, Superposition has expanded to 110 international chapters, organized the Bay Area's largest all-women hackathon, and launched 2 mentorship programs with Uber. Climate Action
Larissa Johnson is the Residential Energy Program Manager for Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection. For the last twenty years, Larissa has dedicated her life to working with and for communities; helping people create sustainable, walk-able, bike-able, healthy neighborhoods that cultivate hale and hearty children and invigorate the communities' livelihood.
