A Look at Slavery: Yesterday & Today

SGAP Leaders, Saving Jane, and the Sandy Spring Slave Museum join forces on January 14 during a virtual workshop entitled A Look at Slavery: Yesterday & Today!

Middle and high school students from Montgomery County Maryland (MCPS) virtually tour the Sandy Spring Slave Museum which houses historical artifacts related to the slave trade in Maryland. Following the virtual tour, students participate in an interactive workshop modern-day slavery which includes reading a graphic novel about the dangers of online grooming form the eyes of an ANIME teen, Zoe. Wheaton High School and Minority Scholars with MCPS participate. Thank you to our partner, SavingJane!
